Default I know this sounds weird...............

but the ONLY time in my life I ever get indegestion like what you described (burning sensation in the stomach and coming up the throat) is when I happen to eat eggs for breakfast AND take my prescription pill Prozac. I know it sounds bizarre............but for some reason the combination of my medicene and eggs cause this weird indegestion in me. At first I thought maybe it was just coincidental, but I kept trying it out and sure enough if I ate EGGS right before or after taking my medicene.........I would get the burning sensation. Anyways, I stopped taking the medicene in the morning if I had eggs for breakfast and WHOLLA!!! NO MORE INDEGESTION!!!! Are you by chance eating eggs and taking medicene at the same time?

Unlike others on this thread, I DID get indigestion when I did Atkins (and yes, I was strictly following induction and had read the book thoroughly before starting!) Of course, I also get heartburn when I eat too much of ANYTHING and I think that's the main culprit for me. High fat foods do it to me, and if I exercise too soon after eating, I definitely get heartburn.

Your body will probably adapt to your new way of eating. Make sure you are not stuffing yourself; eating a lot of small meals will make digestion go more smoothly.
