Talking makin' bacon

Hi everyone..
I am enjoying your posts a lot.. thankyou.
I had been eating well up until a week ago when I crashed and burned and could not get back to it until now.
Last night I went to the Deli to buy my bacon and had them slice it very, very thin.
I usually buy my bacon at the supermarket, nothing special there.
It was better than any bacon I have had in a long time.
I cook mine under the grill so it came out crispy and crackled.
I just thought I'd share that with you all as I kinda feel as though I re-discovered the wheel!
Thin, crispy bacon rules!
Forgive me this frivolity and wish me luck with my current eating success as I know I am going to need it.. TOM is just around the corner and I won't be using any cherry chocolate to get me thru it this time!
All the very best to all of you!
kelly

Not to throw water on your fire - I'm a bacon-lover too. I hope that Deli bacon is nitrate/nitrite free. If not, Whole Foods sells a tasty real bacon without the preservatives. It's a formerly-forbidden treat!

what great success you've had! congratulations on your loss so far. And yes, it's so easy to slip back into a phase of sugar-eating...good for you for making it end sooner rather than later!

I am totally converted to baking my bacon, which I buy thick. Baking it for 40 minutes results in really crispy stuff! I bake up a pound every week, eat a few rashers, then have it ready for omelets, salads, and crustless pizzas. Long live bacon! That's not frivilous, kelly--it's wise!
