Question Splenda Question.......

I am just wondering if anyone knows if Splenda will carmalize when it is cooked like sugar will? Just wondering because if it will, then I have some amazing candy recipies!! I am scared to try it myself because I only buy the packets and don't want to open a ton to have it ruined, but if it works, then I will buy a box of it

I will give it a go on this question although I am no expert... I have tried to carmalize almonds for a mandarin orange spinach salad... the splenda will definitely melt but you do not get the same effect as if you were using sugar... possibly some one else has more detail but this has been my experience...

What does it do? Does it just melt and that's about it? The main thing I want it for is home made carmel.
