Default Too much Salad?

Today was my first day of incuction. I think I did OK, but I think I may have had too much salad. I just couldn't stop eating it. It was so good. hee. Here is what I had today!

B: 2 poached eggs, 3 pieces bacon, water
L: tuna with one hard egg, mayo, salad with Ranch dressing
D: Ham, green beans, salad and more salad. I had about 3 helpings with Ranch dressing.

snacks: 3 pieces of beef jerkey, 2 pieces of cheese.
I drank lots of water. Not sure how much, but it is all I have had to drink today. Probably 8 or 10 glasses.

I cooked some ground beef to snack on the next couple of days, cuz i did find myself hungry around mid morning and mid afternoon. But my dog ate it. So now I must figure out something else. Anyw suggestions for ground meat and chicken to add flavor. Thanks

While on induction you are allowed 3 cups of salad with salad toppings OR 2 cups of salad and 2/3 cup of cooked veggies.

After induction you can pretty much nibble on salad until your hearts content

Hi neighbor!

Can I make a suggestion? Check out www.fitday.com . It's a place where you can input your food and keep track of your calories, protein, fat, carbs and fiber. From the looks of this menu you're probably going over 20g/day of carbs. Keeping track on fitday is a good way to "get the feel" of what 20 carbs looks like. Be diligent and count everything!!

Take a look at the recipe forum and in others' journals for some great ideas to add variety, too!

PS - Hey! Look at all these TEXANS!!

Aint it great! hee

So you really think I am going over 20 carbs. What do you think is adding the most carbs? I am eating what the book suggests, adn i have researched this forum, I thought I did pretty well, except for the salad. I only had about 2 cups total, if that. when i say helping, I meant little helpings. The ham was not processed. What do you suggest I cut back on? Tomorrow, I was planning on some thin ribeye steaks. Is that ok? Thanks!

Oh, well, I guess when you said "salad, salad and more salad" I was thinking like salad-bowl-size servings + the green beans + cheese...and that would add up fairly quickly. And I think Ranch has a few carbs too, doesn' t it? It's just that unless you really watch what you're doing, you can go over 20 carbs pretty easily. It just depends on how diligent you want to be. If you're having success, then don't worry about it too much.

Eat all the meat and eggs you want.
