Default 8lbs to go...help

One more question for you. I weighed 146lbs when I started. I need to lose 8 more. Although I wasn't obese this extra weight was still very hard for me. Currently, I've been losing about .5 to 1lb a day (granted I'm sure a lot of it was water)

So my question is, do I do LC just like everyone else? If that was the case I could realistically lost the weigh in a week or two. (even though sometimes the less you have to lose the harder it is) Or do I up my carbs, or what do I do. I want to keep this weight off for good, and in Atkins book he doesn't talk much about people that need to lose 15 or so lbs. I just want to do it safely and permanantly

I think this is the hardest part for all of us to learn

How and what to eat for the rest of your life in order to maintain that "perfect" weight for you. In Dr Atkin's book he talks indepth about OWL (Ongoing weight loss). He suggests for us to up our daily carb 5 grams a week until we find ourselves no longer losing. That is our maintaince number. Then to drop back down to a lower number to continue to lose the weight more slowly until we reach our goal weight.

I have 9 pounds left and losing at around 1 pound every month or so. I know once I do reach my goal weight I will not need to make any drastic changes to maintain it due to the fact that I will be eating correctly

Hope that helps

Thank you so much for replying. I do have Atkins book. It's just that I only started Atkins a little over two weeks ago. And that was my question should I move to OWL already?

I would.

Since you are so close to your goal weight, learning how to maintain it takes a little practice
