Is it me or am I doing something wrong.

If I am in the middle of composing a post and move away to do a web search or check a particular site when I return the reply post page is invariably mysteriously empty. All the brilliant thoughts evaporated in a cloud of smoke. Most annoying.

Because this has happened several times I have tried copying the post so far to the notebook and then repasting into the vacant page when I return.

Thinking that I have cracked it only to find the pasted words of wisdom have been replaced with a thread reference and again all that I so eleoquently wrote has been consigned to the ether.

I tried pasting into a word document but just the same tread reference.

Can some one tell me why the post dissapears when I move away. Is it because of my connection is automatically redialling and it not holding while working off line? But that would not explain the copy and paste phenomenon.

A sultry pathetically confused Rustpot would like some advice

Rusty, try using the Preview Post button, which is below the message box, right next to the Submit button. This will temporarily save your post on the server, so that if you move away to another page, you can easily refresh/ restore to the last point that you "saved" ... When typing a long post, it helps to save (Preview) several times.

Also, try having a second window open to do all your surfing and hunting around. That way you can keep the window with your post always on the same page.
