Default Some opinions on diet analysis

Hello all on this lovely list

My sister (also a low-carber) sent me a link to a website that is similar to fitday but more user friendly (allows for funky amounts like 1/4 cups and 1/8 cups ). I did a menu analysis of one day for me this week and I came up with 2540 calories a day and 96 grams of carbs (I'm on CALP which doesn't count carbs but has different rules regarding balancing carbs and time limits.) These totals seem a little high for my stats (I'm 146 now and if the rule of thumb is to eat 10 to 12 times your body weight...). The scale has been showing that I'm swinging between 148-146 for three weeks now (official stall?) but my measurements are going down (not drastically, about 1/2 inches at a time) and I feel lighter and my clothes are looser. So my question is, should I worry about the high totals for calories and carbs if I'm feeling like I'm losing weight? I'm pretty active (I've increased my walking to 1 hour a day plus 50 minutes on weekends and plan to join a gym this week so that I can get some weight work in as well to work on my upper body) so maybe I'm burning those extra calories?

Anyway, any feed back as usual would be most appreciated.

Tam

Since you're not that far from your goal, you'd probably have to tighten the screws a bit to lose more weight. Maybe watch what you're eating at that reward meal. 2500 calories seems more like a maintenance level, especially for someone within 30-40 lbs of goal. Good luck.

So what's the link? I am not a fan of Fitday and would love to try something different. And I agree with Kristine. The closer you are to "goal" the slower it goes and the harder it is. But you'll get there.

Yes, inquiring minds want to know this new site!

Fitday is great, but I don't use it as often as a should - I find it to cumbersome, and not exactly the most user friendly program in the world.

OK, here it is - my sister says it's a nutritional database. Hope that helps people.

on fitday, you can key in 0.25 for 1/4 measurements. i tried doing so and it works.
