Default Hunts Tomato Sauce

Does anyone know the count on Hunts Tomato Sauce? I have looked on their web site and its not there, nor is it on the can. Ingredients are: Water, tomato paste or tomatoes, salt, tomato fibre, citric acid, spice, flavour. I tried Fitday, but the count is really high... cant be, can it?

Hi there!

According to Corinne Netzer's Complete Book of Food Counts, Hunts tomato sauce has 3 grams of carb per 1/4 cup with 1 gram of fiber for an effective carb count of 2 grams per 1/4 cup. Watch the serving sizes on Fitday, sometimes it will default to a large serving size (like 1 cup of butter, for instance) and you need to reset it to the proper amount to get the correct carb count for what you really ate.
