Actually, the recommendation to eat lots of fiber is a good one The trouble is ... it's always a picture of bread or a bagel or bowl of cereal or some other highly processed, refined starch/ grain product. We hear fiber, we automatically think bran. But, bran from grains is a joke, it's a myth. Fiber from VEGETABLES (nuts too) is superior, but people don't want to be told to eat more spinach.
