Talking Update - Personal Whoosh Fairy Visit

Well I'm excited. Just got back from a week's vacation in Saskatoon (btw it is summer there, lots of sunshine, unlike Vancouver) and I've lost 10 lbs! Picked up a tan too! Woooo hoooo!! Haven't had a chance to measure yet but the scale is currently my best friend. Lots of walking & stair climbing; no cheating. Just being away from the stress ~ work couldn't have hurt either. I've had to grab some smaller clothes (that I could never throw out) from my closet. That was more fun than I thought it would be. maybe I should get out more

I was on a plateau for 5-6 weeks, didn't worry about it too much thanks to what I've learned at this site, and my perserverance with LC paid off. Unlike other diets, I never got discouraged with LCing, just stuck with it. If anyone else is at a 4+ week plateau, just keep at it, you'll get there.

Isn't that whoosh fairy just the sweetest thing??

-31 lbs since March 26 2001

Cool KEWL

Ruth, that's so awesome. Way to go! Wow, and even lost while on vacation ...

I can vouch for the sticking with lowcarb, no matter what's happening (or not) with the scales. I stalled out for months, but stuck with lowcarb .... as you said, it doesn't feel like a diet, and I know if I ate high carbs, even if it was lowfat and low calorie, I'd have GAINED. Well, perseverence paid off, plus exercise .. and the stall is broken.

You're right, the whoosh fairy is terrific. So are you!! ..

Way to go. Pleaseeeee send the Whoosh Fairy to the States.

I really could use a visit. I am going on vacation to Hawaii in a few weeks and would like to be down at least a few more pounds.

Very happy for you, now I again believe in fairys.

Barb

Barb-
You'll love Hawaii!!!!!!!!!!! Dan and I were there for a week just a couple weeks ago! I look at my pics all the time! Hopefully, Dan's computer starts working and we'll scan some Hawaii pics so EVERYONE can see how beautiful it is there. If there is one word I would use to describe it, I would say breath-taking. What island are you going to?

Smile

Thank you everyone for the encouragement. I wish I could send the whoosh fairy out to everyone, but she is a bit capricious & only she knows when & where she will bestow her blessings upon us.

It's been 10 weeks between "visits", I was wondering where she was hiding but colour me happy, she showed up. *LOL*

Barb, hope you have a wonderful vacation, just don't be shy about asking for things not on the menu. ie one day at lunch time in a restaurant I wasn't very hungry 'coz of a late breakfast so I just had coffee & a side of bacon. No problems & it was just what I needed. Ruth
