Default Carb Blockers

I keep seeing ads for something called a "Carb Blocker"
Has anyone had any experience with these?
Do they work?

I'm starting my 3rd week and down 9 lbs but finding it difficult. I don't crave carbs but seem to be hesitant to eat them in case I go over the 20 gms a day.

Typical day includes:
2 eggs 2 strips bacon for BK
6 Chicken wings (roasted with garlic) for lunch
8 oz meat (usually lamb or chicken) with 1.5 cups cooked broccoli with 2 oz of melted cheddar
1/2 bag of pork rinds for late snack

Is the above OK? Am I doing it right? Should I add more carbs?

Is it true that not eating enough carbs can cause your weight loss to stall?

Thanks for being there - you don't know how much it means to me

Hi Nushi

Great on your weight loss so far. 9 pounds down. WTG

Now you are over induction you should begin to increase your carbs and move onto ongoing weight loss. There is probably not problem with you staying at 20 g for the next week or two, but then you do need to move on. Move up to 25 g. Yes, insufficient carbs can make you stall. Even more likely is not enough calories.
Do you belong to Fitday.com . This is a great way to keep track of calories.

No idea what the adverts for carb blockers are. I doubt that they work. Keep to Atkins, it will be a lot cheaper.

You're typical menu sounds fine. I would add in some more salad or other green non starchy vegetables.

Keep faith and the pounds will drop off.

Actually if you are on Atkins, Dr A's books states that you can stay on induction for quite a while. I have been on it for almost 2 mos. Plan on staying on it till I lose about 60-75% of the weight I want to drop. Then I will go to OWL.

I actually have the "sugar blocker" and "Carb Cutter" supplements. Not sure if they work, but I usually only take them when we go out to eat and I don't know what they are using in the sauces.

You don't need to take these with your diet the way it is now. In fact you might want to add some salad to your lunchtime menu as your carbs look pretty low.

Default More carbs?

Thanks for the quick replies.
I checked out the Fitdays site and will be using it from now on.

The big problem is I'm just not hungry!

I want to stay on induction for as long as I am able as I have a fair amount of weight to lose.

Thanks for the support

Nushi

Hi Nushi!

For the most part, your daily menu looks good. The only suggestions I can make is add a salad with low carb dressing with your lunch and go easy on the bacon unless it is nitrate free. Carb blockers sound like a good idea at first, but they are known for giving people bad cases of intestinal cramping and diarrhea (caused by the undigested food passing through a system that is used to having it broken down first). Not to mention that they are expensive really don't work that well. Save your money and buy yourself some good steaks instead. Think about it...if there really was a magic pill that allowed you to eat anything you wanted and still loose weight, it would be front page news around the world.
