Default Hair and Nails...

Three plus weeks on Atkins and I am loving every minute (almost)

Here's something I've been wondering about. Since we are eating more protein, can this way of eating be beneficial to hair and nail growth? I haven't noticed any changes, but I know my skin is softer.
Can any of you "oldbies" enlighten me? Thanks!

I find that both my hair and nails grow faster on this diet, especially after a couple of months on it. It is not only the protein, it is also the increase in fats that do it (especially if you are taking extra flax and EFA's).

Default Hi

My nails are alot stronger, so they seem to grow out a whole lot quicker. They were always so soft and would almost just tear.

I've not noticed to many changes in my nails, but my hair has got a lot softer and the hair dresser is quite complimentry.

It will take several weeks for this to show though as the bits that you see are already dead and so you should start to notice changes after 6 weeks or so.

My skin is much clearer since starting this WOE. For years, I have had to see a Dermotologist (sp?) and have been on several medications. I don't know if it's the increased water or what but I'm not breaking out WOOOO HOOOOO!!

Hi,

My skin has improved loads and my hair is growing faster.

My nails have always been strong but they do seem to be growing a little quicker.
