Question Keto sticks and other stuff

Ok, I am new and have been on induction since Monday. I tested with the keto sticks last night and it was bright purple. It was inbeween the last 2 darker colors. Question is, is that normal? I had gestational diabetes and just want to make sure. I hoped for purple but was just a little alarmed at how purple it was.
Also the diet sugar question. I don't recall reading in "Diet Revolution", anything about giving it up for induction and I have also been using much more than the 3 packets it talks about. If my ketos are so purple, could this mean I can safely continue the usage? And one last Question (I am full of them, lol)
Water. How important is it really for "weight loss"? I hate drinking it. I know their are creative way's of drinking it and I do drink a couple glasses a day, but do I really need it to lose weight?
Sorry, I lied cus I have yet another question.... Cottage cheese. I don't really see it on the list of "can eats", but yet so many recipee's in Dr. Atkin's book require it. I have checked out the carb reading on the packages and it seems quite high to me.
If anyone can help me with answers to these question, I would appreciate it, thanks a bunch!,
Brenda

Hi Brenda. Let me start by saying Welcome to the forum

Let me continue by saying "Water is going to become your favourite drink" and yes, it is THAT important. The more you drink the better you will lose. You must drink the 64 oz required - this is necessary regardless of how you eat. I have read countless stories of people who have broken a stall or busted through a plateau just by increasing their water intake. And keep in mind if you drink anything else it is above and beyond the 64 oz - nothing replaces water.

Your keto stix are dark because you arent drinking enough. Darker colour = dehydration. Dehydration = slower fat burning. I am sure you've got the picture by now.

You must have an older copy of DANDR - the 3 packette of splenda rule and the "no aspertame" are in the December 2001 edition. Along with the 4 oz limit to cheeses.

Cottage cheese is a great source of protein and carbs - yes, I said and carbs. This is a low carb WOL - not a 0 carb one. You should be getting your carbs primarily from green veggies, but once you're out of Induction you will be increasing them - cottage cheese would make a nice addition to your menu at that time.

Best of luck in your new WOL!
Nat
