Default Cthulu on a bike

It's time for a rededication to the remodelling job. I've had a couple of shakeup moments. Got weighed at a clinic and I was 18st 9lbs (261lbs). I've never been anywhere near this weight and never expected to get so high.

Some events in my private life mean I've discovered a whole new motivation to lose weight.

So I'll use this log to keep me on the straight and narrow. No comments, just a simple food and exercise record.

Food yesterday:
B A slice of cheese
L Chicken salad (good) and Onion Rings (bad)
D Grilled lamb chops with stir fried broccolli in ginger.
Carbs - 16
Calories - 1675
Protein - 116g (28%)

Activity levels: 2 hours of walking/shopping.
Weight: 261lbs

Welcome to the exercise forums . It is always good to see new faces.

I love creative gym log titles, even when I do not understand them .
I must admit, I have never heard about Cthulu before. So I google-d it. I found many references, pictures, tales etc. but not the ORIGIN of him/her/it.
How this "cult" started?

Edited later: I found something/somebody. H.P.Lovecraft - it seems he is the author/creator. (?) Or was there anybody before him?

Ok, I am going to check this "Chi Gung" too.

Cheers:
Eva

P.S.: I LOVE that Barry quote .

Should mention goals. Weight training twice a week plus a 20 min session of cardio. Keep carbs at about 60g and within the limits of 20-100g. Aim for a calorie deficit on each day i.e. less than about 3700 per day.

Yesterday started well:
Bought some mixed grill and split it between a late breakfast and lunch.
Late B: A small pork chop and two lamb sausages with green beans.
L: A 3oz steak and a lamb chop with grilled aubergine and sauted leek.

Activities: 1 hour of heavy shop (including totting it uphill) and a 20 minute walk.

However, it went wrong in the evening. I met with a friend I've not seen for ages. Alcohol led me astray.

D: Crispy lamb and dry spare ribs.
Alcohol: *cough* 2 pints of LC Marstons and 2 pints of Xmas Ale (that's about 40 crsb right there).
Carbs - 81 (still under my 100g upper limit)
Calories - 2444

I've had to use equivalant foods in fitday, they don't have much chinese food on the dtabase. (fried chinese cabbage and barbecue ribs.

yesterday:
Was hugely hungry all day, ate masses. Had little food in the house and felt tired so ordered in dinner again.

Late B: Grilled hot dogs with green beans
L: 3 small lamb chops with fried spinach
D: Kung Po Fish (left the fruity bits. Just ate cod, cashews and a bit of pepper and onion), mixed vegetable soup (threw out the sweetcorn chunks - yuck) and some deep fried sweet potato.
Alcohol: 1 shot of rum and diet coke after dinner.

Calories: 1813
Carbs: 90 (just realised that Fitday goes by US standards and I have to subtract the fibre, so my carb count this week has ben lower than I thought)

Activities: Painted the kitchen ceiling, 6 mins on exercise bike and 20 mins of light weight training.

Hmph! weeks averages:
Average Calories
source grams cals %total
Total: 2527
Fat: 115 1039 42%
Sat: 37 336 14%
Poly: 21 192 8%
Mono: 43 388 16%
Carbs: 114 402 16%
Fiber: 14 0 0%
Protein:142 568 23%
Alcohol: 66 464 19%

Summary: Too much fat, too much alcohol, not enough fibre. Protein about right. Carbs about 20% too high (all due to beer).

In theory I have averaged a calorie deficit of nearly 1400 cals per day. That ought to mean a weight loss of 4 to 5 lbs! I bet

We shall see what next week brings. I have been heavy on the decent beer this week. See what happens back on LC beer.

L: A small tin of tuna with added grated cheese.
D: 10oz steak with Huge green salad.
Alcohol - seems to be one of those weeks. 5 pints.

Yesterday - out all day with limited food choices, lots of walking in freezing weather and a gigantic pub crawl with the lads.
B: Bacon Sandwich
L: Half a cheese, egg and bacon pannini (sp?)
D: A Doner Kebab (Gyro)
Alcohol: indeed there was...6 pints.
Calories - 2427
Carbs - 204 (Bread and beer)
Exercise - about five hours of walking. Circumnavigated a 105 acre enclosure then 2 miles to pub then 2 miles to station.
