Default Coffee Questions

Hi

Im new to the site and LOVE IT!!!

I began Somersizing 10 days ago and quickly moved to Atkins Induction instead. About 10 days ago, I stopped drinking regular coffee and went on to the decaf. Is it ever possible to resume coffee? I still miss it and wonder how long this will take to disappear.

Can I ever have a cup of coffee in the morning again that is not decaf?

The induction diet is great and I am losing weight at last!

Thanks to anyone with help/tips/advice.

I would wait until Induction is over before introducing coffee. It is best to keep it to an absolute minimum. If you go through some of the journals here you will see a lot of people do have coffee.

Check out this thread - it is quite helpful. http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthre...ighlight=Coffee

Take care.

Thanks for the response and very quickly too!

I am really hankering after a coffee - I dont take sweeteners but I have a horrible feeling that one hankering for a coffee may lead to other hankerings. I am on Induction right now so after the 14 day period, I may treat myself to a cup of coffee.

Hi Daschnook

Welcome to the forums, I hope that you find us a friendly bunch
I too had a real desire for a cup of regular coffee after switching to decaf when I started the WOL. After a couple of months I switched back to regular coffee (I take it black and unsweetened) and have so far found it not to be a problem regarding stalling (now been on Atkins for 6 months). I know that this is not the case for everybody, but if you don't try it you'll never know. Just be prepared to revert back to decaf if need be.

Keep smiling

Ken

Hi Fiona and Ken

Thanks for the responses. I do love this site.

I was under the impression that without cafeine the body would have to work that bit harder to use its own fuel for energy. Maybe I am wrong though.

Being still on Induction, I shall be treating myself to a real cup of coffee as soon as Induction is over....however....(*sob*) I am confused about my Induction and have posted a Newbie ?? up at the top - I hope you are able to help me with the question as the answer will determine when I next visit the bottom of my regular coffee cup with a smile on my face!

Ill post the question above ...

Your commitment is admirable.

[*sob*]?? I'd be grinning from ear to ear if I was {I am losing weight at last! } and not moaning about coffee. Count your blessings!! - only joking!

If you click on Search (3rd from the right at the top) and put in any keyword (coffee for instance) you will find a lot of information on that posted all over the Board.

Take Care.
