Cool Greetings from a Texas Newbie

Hello all! I am new to these boards and look forward to interacting with you all... it's seems like a fantastic support group. I do have a question...but let me give a little history.

I have been doing Atkins (Induction) for almost one month and have had very good results, (12 lbs in all)!! However, in the past 2 weeks, my weight loss has ceased. I even gained back 1lb. I am trying to taper off of a prescribed water pill (Hydrochlorothiazide) and have increased my water intake to 88oz daily to help. On the Atkins website, he recommends taking an amino acid called L-Taurine. I began taking this yesterday. Has anyone had a similar situation? Do you think this could be the reason for the stall??

Sorry such a long post! Many thanks in advance!

Welcome and Howdy from a fellow Texan and Dallasite

Congrats on your loss so far. As far as your stall question....it is quite normal for the weight loss to slow down after the first two weeks. Don't shoot for losing more than 2 pounds a week. We classify a stall as 6 weeks or more without scale or tape measure movement.

Hang in there and keep doing what you have been.

Thank you fellow Metroplexian! It looks like you are doing fantastic as well. OK, I'll keep chugging water, moving, and LC'ing until the weight has no choice but to drop. Thanks for the encouragement!

Silly me, I just noticed your start and goal weights are the same as mine!

It's been one of those Fridays.

Default HOWDY!

I'm new too and thought I would say HI.

I also live in the metroplex, but try to hide in the outskirts with my horse and cows!

Sounds like you've got this whole LC thing down. Definitely have done your studying and homework!

I'm just trying to adjust to a new WOE and keep it! Of course the 25 lb weight loss I'm trying to accomplish isn't a bad thing either!

Have you started a journal?

Stick with it! Happy Losing!

Jennifer
