Question Carbs per 100 grams?

Okay, what does that mean? I had soysauce on meat tonight and the bottle said 0 carbs. Then I looked it up on fitday....it said 27 carbs...then i looked it up on the carb counter from this page...7per 100 g. What does all this mean? Do i trust the label or what?
Thanks and sorry for all the quesiotns

Default Depends on the brand

Carb values can vary greatly depending on the brand, the levels of ingredients used by each manufacturer. If the bottle says 0 carbs, it is likely to be less than one gram. Company does not have to declare the amount if it is less than one gram.

The carb counter I use says 2.5 per 100 gram average for all brands.

Fitday actually says 1.26 grams per tablespoon or 20 grams per cup. I think that sounds about right

Hope that helps.

The other aspect to this question is this: if a food contains "10g of Carbs per 100g", this means that if you have 200g of the substance, then you have 20g of carbs...if you have 50g of the substance, you have 5g of carbs. In other words, it is a ratio, and in order for it to mean anything to you, it is necessary to know what weight of that particular food you are dealing with.

Hope this makes things clearer. If not, please shout out, and I will explain further.

Andy
