I wanna join in too! I have had Winsor Pilates for about a year and a half now. When my friend and I started walking, I tried incorporating it, but stopped. I'm glad I found this forum so I could start back up and have some other friends doing the challenge with me. Today, (Tuesday, 10/19) will be my first day!!!

Thumbs up Count Me In!

It's 10/19 and I am in!
I used to do Pilates every day. Then I got promoted to a new job and moved across the country. I am now squishy all over and hate myself for it! We should all see results in 4 weeks or so.....Fit and Firm for Christmas!!!!!

Default First Day....LMBO

WHEW! I took on Pilates and came out exhausted, but alive - if that is what you can call this. Man, am I ever out of shape! I did 30 minutes of the 48 minute tape and had to take a break in between for 5 minutes! I feel like I just ran a marathon. I see endurance is not one of my strong suits and something I am definately going to have to work on. I think later today I will finish the rest of the tape (only 18 mintues left).

Good news is I didn't have to call a tow truck to rescue me although I considered it a couple of times.

BTW: Welcome Stephanie! Good to have someone experienced in Pilates here to help the newbies like myself. Boy, do i need all the I can get.

Talking I'm so excited!

I am so excited to have found this post. I've been reading this forum for quite a while to keep me motivated to keep lowcarbing..........Now, I've found this for pilates.......WOW!!!! I bought the winsor pilates off the informercial about 5 months ago. I haven't even opened the package. Once I got it I had one person say they didn't really think it worked and I wasn't motivated enough to try it. But, after reading everyone else talk so positive about it, I am rearing to go!!!!! I will open my package tonight and get started in the morning. Does anyone have a recommendation if it's better to do it in the evening or in the morning??

Thanks for this challenge it is going to be great!!!!!

Well I made it through the 20 min workout, barely !!! Without this challenge I probably would not have done it today. I need to do some stretching along with this. I have a very hard time bringing my legs up straight ( my son had a good laugh while watching me ). I definately need this for my lower back and abs. Taking my measurements today, hopefully I'll see some results. Thanks again for starting the challenge, it keeps us motivated.
Have a great day !!!!

Did my 20 minute (beginner) tape last night! I am off and ready. Did quick UB weights and my walk/jog this AM and will do the 20 minute tape again tonight. I like the pilates at night as a kind of wind down an hour or so before bed - it is not too sweaty, plus I do that in my bedroom while I do weights and cardio in the basement. The 20 minute tape is not too challenging at the moment. I can do the 40 minute intermeddiate tape which will make me work but I don't know if I want to do morning weights/cardio and then also devote another 40 minutes at night. A girl's gotta have a life, right? Does anyone have experience with doing a partial tape - will that hurt/help?

I just finished my first workout. I will just stick to the 20min. for now until I get it down pat and then go on to the other DVD's. I also went to the gym this morning and did a 30min. circut training boy will i sleep good tonight. The best time for me to do my pilates is when my kids are napping then I have a little peace

Default Phew!!

A big welcome everyone...I feel exhausted reading about you keen pilates bunnies!..Big question here...Why am I not 'feeling' it this morning?
It sure felt challenging at the time...maybe i need to toss a few weights around as well?
I checked out the am/pm pilates dvd from the video shop, and the winsor exercise where you extend your leg, then cross over the body and up...this dvd uses resistance bands around the sole of the foot [you held ends of bands in hands!]..I may use the band today when i do winsor, cos it should give me a more controlled movement instead of my leg flinging across my body and up!!
I hope to look as graceful and composed as the girls on the dvd..in what..4 weeks then?!?!

I know what you mean! I'm not feeling it today either. No burn, no soreness. Nothing. The good thing is that my pants are looser today. I don't know if it's because they've stretched out or what, but it makes me feel good

Maybe our bodies just adjust to Pilates realy fast? I don't know. I make sure my navel is sucked in at all times and I've actually improved in some of my moves too. Who knows? Is it bad to not feel sore afterwards or what?

Evening everyone!
Because of the workout I did yesterday, all the twisting of my spine, there was no way I could get on the floor today. My sides are killing me.

You know the move. You sit up, cross one leg over the other, bent at the knee, and then twist from the spine and sides as far as you can, reaching behind you. After I reached behind me, I then pulled my body more into a twist by holding onto the mat. I held it for a count of 10 and then did the other side. And I did this about 4 times each side. (I was hoping to reduce the inches in my waist line, and develop a nice curve). But I'm so sore today..... I can't do anything.

So... until tomorrow.... there's no way I can do this everyday.
