Default Replacing lost muscle

Hi!
Nat if you see this, you answered one of my posts saying to do resistance work to build up muscle lost on previous yo-yo dieting. Right now my Blood Pressure is trying to settle in in response to some new meds. I don't want to exacerbate it until I get the BP steady. In the meantime, I was wondering if Yoga or Pilates would help build the muscle? I have a Yoga Zone Beginners tape that I'm going to start, and someone mentioned Hatha Yoga.

Thanks all,

Ruby

Hi Ruby -

Nat's in Cuba, though I'm sure she'll respond when you get back. I think any exercise is good and will certainly help you maintain the muscle mass you have. I don't know much about the blood pressure issue and weight training. Did your doctor tell you not to weight train? Just curious. You may want to post your question to TrainerDan in the exercise forum!

Default Weight training and BP

Hi,
No my doctor didn't tell me not to, but I've read that in numerous books that it can cause an increase in BPP.

Thanks, I'll question trainer Dan,

Ruby
