Default Supplements on Empty Stomach - OUCH!

I did a dumb thing today... I had a sales call this morning first thing, and while I was taking drinks periodically during the conversation, I just went ahead and took my vitamins/supplements at the same time. Unfortunately, I hadn't eaten anything yet and my stomach has been aching since. Not enough to double me over but definitely enough to make me notice!

Of course it says on the bottles to take them with meals. Of course I already knew that. Now I know WHY it says to take them with meals!

Oh well, you live (LC) and you learn (LC)!

I had a multivitamin that ALWAYS gave me a sore tummy. It didn't matter if I ate before or not, I would be nauseous after taking it.

Oh gosh, you should try a prescription pre-natal vitamin on an empty stomach. Guaranteed to have you puking in five minutes or less!

Hope you feel better soon!

Oh, I feel your pain!!! I can't take anything on an empty stomache or I'm gonna be puking. Same thing if I try to workout and I haven't had anything to eat in a couple hours. You can just feel it working its way back up.

And never take the fish oil/flax/borage capsule on an empty stomach! Not only may it make the tummy ache but you'll burp "fishy breath" !!

Oh poor you I on supplements half the time even with a full stomach. The worst are the b-complex and my multi with B, if I ever have to take iron I get very sick. For some reason the fish oil on an empty stomache is ok for me (never had a fish burp) and calcium, milk thistle, lutein, and magnesium I can take on an empty stomach ok, it's swallowing them all - now THAT's hard.

I'm sorry so many of you have had similar experiences, but it's good to know I'm not the only one! I'll tell you for sure though, from now one, I'm taking them with food or right after I eat something.

This pain kind of reminded me of all the indigestion and acid reflux I used to get BEFORE I started LC. For some reason, that went away about a week into induction. Today reminded me just how much I don't miss it!

Milk thistle is awesome for your liver
I can not take a straight multi vitamin I have to take all different kinds to get the same kind of value of a multi vitamin in itself because no matter if I take it on a full stomach or empty I barf
