Post Lemon Zest

Hi Dear Friends:
It's been awhile since I've been in here. After my blow out binge I got depressed and just didn't feel up to anything. Now I am back into the swing of things, I've almost lost everything I gained back.
I am going to make Cream Cheese and Lemon Macaroons from the Recipe page, it calls for Lemon Zest and I have never heard of this my guess is it must be lemon juice. Anyone out there know what it is? I'd hate to ruin it. I'll let you all know how it turns out.
I'm so surprised how much better I feel, how much energy I have now that I'm back to LC. I fellt just awful and was so depressed. I guess you have to fall a couple of times before you relize how much better you are off living this way. I'm really pushing to be at 50% of my goal by the end of the month.
Well, hope to here from someone on my question

Default zest

HI

There is actually a kitchen gadget called a zester!!!! It basically peels a little of the lemon peel off. You can also use for them oranges etc.

Ladybug is right. You can buy a zester, or you can just grate the lemon peel. If you are grating, use a fairly fine grater for smaller zest. You probably don't want big chunks in your recipe. I have the zester and it works great, also for cheese, and for chocolate!!! But I was told to never put it in the dishwasher, always rinse it by hand.

One thing to remember when zesting.

You only want the peel NOT the pith. The pith is the white stuff under the colorful peel of oranges, lemons, grapefruits and it is VERY bitter.

So don't bare down with the zester or grater!
