I lost 7 pounds the first two weeks, then stalled for 3 weeks. Since then I've been averaging a little less than a pound a week.

I lost 8 lbs and then stalled out for about 2 or 3 weeks and then started whooshing and then stalled again. It usually works that way with me. I will lose inches but not pounds and its always a cycle of stalls and whooshes.

I lost inches after induction. Most usually forget that it is not always about the scale. When I am not losing it is typically because I am doing something wrong, for example...the low carb chocolate.

What if we asked: who had a normal, usual 'period of adjustment' of one or more weeks after the terrific losses of the 2 weeks of Induction when the body 'caught its breath' and got used to the new circumstances?

Then the answer would be "Lots of people". And the person asking would then know that 1. nothing was wrong, 2. they weren't doing anything wrong, 3. the plan WAS working 4. they should just stay with the plan as written in the book and 5. the losing would soon resume IF they stayed with their plan.

A stall is 6 or more weeks when you don't lose INCHES NOR POUNDS while staying on your LC plan without eating carbage.

I lost 13lbs in the first two weeks and then stalled for two weeks (or my scale broke down???). Since then I lose steadily for a couple of months and stall for a couple of weeks.

I lost 7 pounds during the 1st week and have basically been stalled the last 5. I am hoping that my body finishes "adjusting" soon!

Without these boards I would have dropped my Low Carb Way Of Eating a long time ago.

I began Atkins on 4/4/04 and since then I have watched my scale BOUNCE...literally BOUNCE up and down, up and down. Started at 205 and the lowest I've seen it so far is 190. I had dinner the other night and it was 195 and the next morning it was 190 again.

The scale can be a wicked instrument of torture if I let it. But all in all I know I have lost inches because of the way my clothes fit me and the way I'm losing my double chin.

Not only that, but I suffer no longer from:

WHOOPS!

I hit enter by accident!

I suffer NO LONGER FROM:
1. SERIOUS heartburn
2. Sugar surge headaches and irritability
3. Wondering what I will eat and then beating myself up for eating what my "mouth" wants
4. LOW LOW LOW self esteem, knowing I'm weak and allowing myself to be FAT because I don't have the WILLPOWER to eat right.
5. Wondering if I'm killing myself with my WOE.

Now that I am LIVING an Atkins diet, I don't eat flour, sugar, processed nasty foods that would otherwise give me diabetes and heart disease.

So I consider that if I'm losing at all, that over the long haul I will certainly lose the additional 50 pounds that I currently carry and not only will I LOSE it, I will KEEP it off.

Not a bad deal considering that we get to eat really good stuff!
