Default Atkins weight loss supplement solution does work

Bottom line: stalled for nine months. I kept searching for ways to start losing again.

I got a new copy of Atkins Vita Nutrient Solutions and read it again, especially page 335 on overweight and obesity. Since I have found that everything Atkins has said in his books has been 100% true -- I thought I would try this also.

When I was buying Atkins brand vitamins I found www.VitaCost.com sold them much cheaper. Then I started buying VitaCost vitamins and supplements (which I think is their evil, twisted plan ). But they seem to have high quality, good variety, low cost, good service. I am in no way related to them or get anything from them for making this suggestion.

I had switched multivitamins from Atkins to Sam's club. I also now get my Fatty Acids from Sam's Club. It appeared to be about as good as anyone else's. Vitacost has some really good multivitamins -- but very expensive.

After rereading Atkins Vita Nutrients, I already was taking potassium (salt substitute) so I added magnesium and zinc.

VitaCost recommended taking Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) and green tea. Since CLA is recommended by Atkins I started both of those.

I slowly started losing weight. It was so slow, I was not really sure if I was losing weight or it was another fake attempt.

Then I decided to turn it up a notch and take the other supplements recommended by Atkins.

So I added the vitacost GH product for amino acids
http://www.vitacost.com/Store/Produ...N&SearchText=gh

I also added their CoQ10, L-carnitine, and Lipoic acid
http://www.vitacost.com/Store/Produ...earchText=coq10

I added the TwinLab Choline & Inositol and the TwinLab Methionine. Atkins said this three combination "burns fat" (see bottom of page 81 carries over to top of page 82).

I added DHEA which is not recommended for people under the age of 40 (I am 43). I also added the Siberian Ginseng.

I was doing the Chromium but I am calcium intolerant and it contained a lot of calcium so I had to stop that. I have another Chromium supplement that I will try instead.

Results:

I started all of these supplements in two phases -- a couple of weeks apart so it is hard to say exactly what worked and what did not.

The bottom line is after taking some of these for about 4 weeks and all of it for two weeks I am ten pounds below my stall weight of 262 pounds. A weight that I was stalled at for nine months.

I remember that I was taking CoQ10 when I first started Atkins and then stopped due to the high cost. I don't know if that was part of what stalled me or not.

So I would highly recommend all these pills under the following conditions:
1. You have been stalled for 3 or more months
2. You have been eating close to "zero" carbs (no fruit or vegies)
3. You can't exercise more
4. You don't want to starve yourself -- eating too few calories can also be a problem

In other words, if you have been trying induction for 3 months, cheated very little, and your weight has not changed (there is one particular you keep seeing over and over) then you might want to try all of this.

IMHO most people can simply start exercising more, cut out carbs, etc to lose weight. In my case none of this was possible.

Cost per month for all these supplements

$3.03 DHEA
$2.88 Chromium
$4.82 Atkins advantage
$1.87 Choline-Inositol
$3.13 Methionine
$9.10 CLA
$10.93 Green Tea
$4.56 Siberian Ginseng
$3.38 Multivitamin
$6.41 Fish oil
$22.79 CoQ10 combo
$1.17 Magnesiom
$1.51 Zinc
$3.78 Glucosamine Chondroitin
$28.29 GH (growth hormone -- which really is amino acids that promote GH)

$107.65 TOTAL

So it is costing me $110 per month to break this stall. I think it is well worth it.

If someone had told me nine months ago that I could either go nine months (or longer -- who knows how long I would have gone before starting to lose weight) without losing weight OR for $110 per month I could lose 5 to 10 pounds per month -- I would have paid the $110 per month. Before Atkins diet I have paid close to $50 per month for different weight loss stuff and some worked and some did not. At this stall I doubt any of it would have worked.

The biggest problem I think people have with diets is "stalling". They start to think "why am I punishing myself and giving up all these great foods and getting no where?"

ForWhatItisWorth -- these supplements definitely pulled me out of a nine month stall.

Okay. After stalling at 262 pounds for nine months, I dropped 10 pounds, and have now been stalled at 252 pounds for one month. I guess the supplements are just a temporary thing. Although I am not losing weight, it does seem that I am getting smaller faster. In other words, weight is not the only measurement of whether this diet is working.
