While on induction, try to avoid it completely. It can cause you to have cravings for the real thing and could also stall your weight loss.

After a successful induction, you can be more liberal with it. I have 1 'sugar free' treat everyday, like sugar free jello or yogurt.

Try to avoid items sweetened with Aspartame and sugar alcohols as they've been known to stall people as well.

Splenda seems to be our best alternative.

I like Hunt's Sugar Free Snack Pack Jello (flavored with Splenda) and Dannon Carb Options Yogurt (flavored with Splenda).

While limiting my intake of these foods to 1 per day, I haven't seen any problems with my weight loss, but everyone is different.

Once again I stress though, try to avoid them completely on induction. It can get rough, but if you do it, your cravings for sweet stuff will be completely eliminated and sticking to the diet will be much easier.

Dr Atkins limits it to 3 packets per day, preferably Splenda.
