Default 20g of carbs? How flexible?

I re-calculated my carb intake over the last couple of days and realised that I'm actually getting about 22-23g of carbs a day. Bummer!
Does this make a huge difference? I just started so I can't tell yet!

For some it makes a diff, if you are losing, I wouldn't sweat it. I did my induction at 12g to 15g though. It depends on the person's losing level.

It will vary sometimes day to day. If you stick with the induction list and stay with whole natural foods, and stay away from the fake (frankenfoods), you will be fine. Also, a little exercise goes a long way. Also, are you deducting fiber from your carb count? That makes a difference as well.

Woops! I was looking at the wrong column in the carb counter!
Turns out I'm under 20g a day. Phew! I don't know if I'm losing yet, I'm only on day 3! My gosh. I'm so tired . And I have exercised on 2/3 of those days

You should perk up soon. By day seven I was amazed at how good I felt.

Default keep it up!

It was around day three or four that I started to want to quit and had some cravings, but I stuck it out and was amazed that within two days all my tiredness and cravings disappeared. I've always been someone who could nap at the drop of a hat, even after a large amount of caffeinated coffee and if I could take an afternoon nap I would. I've now been doing Atkins for 3 1/2 weeks and am awake and full of energy all day (even tho I'm now drinking decaf). So, keep it up, stick it out, and within a very short time you should feel better than you have in a long, long time!

Generally, people who exercise regularly find that they are much more tired during Induction. So it's a good idea to either ease up for those 2 weeks or give your body a little holiday while it adapts to the new food intake.

Exercising can actually make your Induction losses "look" smaller as you will be gaining some muscle while losing the fat. You'd be smaller but the stupid scale wouldn't admit it.

Well, I bought some ketostix and I'm definately in ketosis. Although it only reads in the "small" amount of ketosis range. I hope this is enough :/
Thanks for the advice! This tiredness thing is quite bad *fingers crossed* I'm hanging in there!

Don't worry too much about the keytosis thing, some put far too much memphasis on keytosis and end up getting disheartened - you can register a low keytosis if you are drinking plenty - it dilutes things and also you can actually be burning loads of keyto's and still register a small reading - it doesn't always make sense!
You sound like you're doing well - keep up the good work and in no time you'll begin to lose inches and weight!

Glad to hear about the ketosis because my stixs are verily pink but I'm losing inches. I'm also really tired and have alot of headaches the first couple of days when I do induction. It will pass and you will have a burst of energy you wont believe. I take care of three of my grandchildren several days and week and since I've been doing Atkins they don't wear be out. I need all of the help I can get because I have 13 grandchildren and our family is always getting together.
