My husband had a bad report from the doctor this week. We've been doing Atkins and his cholesterol and blood pressure are both out of control. We're switching to SB today. I'm going to go and get the book this morning and then go grocery shopping.

Default Switching, too.

I've been on Atkins since mid-march and lost 20pounds. BUT I've been stalled all through april and now into May and frankly, I'm pis**d off about it. I can go down to near zero carbs and still not lose. I can go off the plan for a day and eat pasta and not GAIN! I'm STUCK! I'm really getting sick of the high protein and the lack of things I love which are oatmeal, beans, etc. I'm switching to SB as of Monday. I need to. Somethign tells me that Atkins may not be for me, though eating low carb is definitely working for me as far as just overall feeling good, not full, etc.

Obviously I have to keep my calories down. I'm also hearing that you should try to avoid eating any carbs after mid-day or 3pm, is that true?

Looking forward to getting to know you all out here in SB!

Mavis

Welcome to the beach everyone! As a somewhat oldtimer (on the beach since mid December), I would say though that 1 month stalls will happen on SBD and any other diet as well. But many find switching helps getting moving again.

If you gain, make sure you are not still in the Atkins mode of high fat! Also, all the whole grain and fruits can't be added at once - you have to try to add one thing at a time.
