Default all new to me....help!!!!

Wow, what an awsome site. THANK YOU to all who contribute.
My brother has lost weight 12kg. He looks great.
I have stopped all sugars that are obvious, all starch, wheat and anything that is not considered "protein". Nothing yet is happening in the getting rid of mass" dept. but, I do feel better. Should I be eating SOME carbs???? I feel more sleepy than before and I miss my coffee (with powdered whitener of course).
I do not have a plan nor have I read any books (I wish I had the time). What next????
I crave guidance and a plan that tells me what to eat and when to eat it.

You have to read a book!

While reading forums is great for getting the general gist of low-carbing, it's not a substitute for what you will get from reading. So many of your questions will be answered and knowledge is power in the low-carbing world. Reading will give you the basics - hows and whys - and the foundation for tailoring a way of eating that is uniquely yours. Everyone is different, and a plan that suits one will not necassarily suit another.

Check through the Low-Carb Plans Forum. There are synopsis of many different plans. I personally recommend Protein Power because that's what I use.

Get your feet wet in a good read. You won't regret it!

I agree whole heartedly with Karen. You need to pick what feels right to you. This link http://www.lowcarb.ca/books.html will give you a good idea of what is available.
You've made a wise choice to start the Low Carb (LC) Way of Eating (WOE). Keep us posted on what plan that you decide on using.

Hi Emcqueen,

I have a friend who did Dr Atkins induction plan for two weeks. He didn't lose any weight during that time. He was about to give up, but then decided to go another week. He said the pounds just started melting off. He lost 30 lbs in 2 1/2 months.

Follow the plan you choose, you'll see results!!
