Question Reducing Cortisol/do You Take Supplements For It?

I've been doing a bit of reading about this. I'm considering trying relacore. I'd really like to hear from people who have tried one of the cortisol reducing supplements. I don't want to waste anymore money if it doesn't help.

Michelle,

I haven't tried anything yet for cortisol but I would love to. I had picked up some Relacore from my GNC and then took it back. On the label it says it is intended for people 40 or older. I am not yet 40. It just seems strange to see something like that on a label-just gave me a wierd feeling.

Hope you get the answer you are looking for.

Sandy

i've read a couple other posts on it-- mixed reviews.... i looked into it but it seems too expensive and not for the general dieter (more for people with serious cortisol problems). Have u had your cortisol tested?--your doctor can do it for you. If your levels are normal, there's really no need to waste money on relacore becasue it won't be effective in reducing cortisol below the level necessary for bodily function (yes, cortisol has many other super important roles in the body besides storing ab fat)

Don't waste your money!!!
Honestly, have you ever heard of the problem until there was a pill to "solve" it?
Cortisol CAN cause some people to carry weight in their mid-section, but only if they experience HIGH levels of stress and are 35 or older. (Of course, it can happen to younger people, but rarely)
A better (and free!) way to lower coritsol levels is 30 min of mild to moderate exercise, at least five times a week, if you are already doing that or more, then don't worry.
And remember-just because a product is ephedra-free, doesn't mean it's good for you.

I just thought I should add-
If it is something that you think is affecting you, then see you doctor. Some people actually do benifit from the pills, it just isn't the panacea that the ads claim it is.

As for having the levels checked, if they're too high you have Cushing's Syndrome and if they're too low, you have Addison's disease. I would think anyone would know if they had either one of those. Cushing's, btw, does cause diabetes and the accompanying high triglycerides and belly fat.
