Default Ancient Mouse

A Dwarf Mouse has become the world's oldest - after celebrating his fourth birthday. Yoda who lives in a lab at a university in Michigan, is 1.462 days old, the equivalent of about 136 human years. The lab's professor Richard Miller said: "The previous record holder in our colony died nine days short of his 4th birthday. Hundred-year-old people are much more common than 4-year-old mice". But Yoda, who lives with a mate named Princess Leia, has had some help. His pituary and thyroid glands were genetically modified to reduce his levels of insulin, helping him live longer.

This was printed in todays Metro/London.
