Question All tips for success welcome!

I lost approximately 150 pounds on a physician-prescribed low carb /high protein diet about 3-4 years ago. I swore I'd never be fat again. Life was grand! But now I have gained well over 100 pounds. I know that I can be successful with this type of eating, but I'm having a really slow start this time around. I'm wondering if I really am following the plan that I think I am?! I believe in the Atkins approach. I am staying within the Induction Plan of no more than 20 carbs per day. During the day I may treat myself with fried pork skins, low carb candy (less than one carb per bar), etc. Is there more to this plan than keeping carbs low and proteins high? What am I missing? I appreciate your comments.

Hello and Happy Easter! Do you have a copy of DANDR?(Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution) You pretty much need a copy of the book to do the induction properly. Candy isn't recommended on induction and you must eat only the recommended foods during this phase. An Atkins bar or shake is allowed only for when you need a meal and can not get a meal in. A lot of bars and candy etc. cause people not to lose. I wish you the best of luck! And if you can't buy a copy of the book check out your local library...or check out Atkins.com

Bcbeauty is right, you need the book. Induction is more that sticking to below 20 carbs per day. You have to exercise some, drink 8-10 8oz glasses of water every day and only eat the items on the approved list of foods. The website is very helpful, but the book provides a solid foundation for starting and keeping with this way of life.

Good Luck to you!
