Default Easter Sunday

Okay, I know this will sound pretty bad but...I've been scared to take communion at my church b/c of the carbs, I feel like God will strike me down just for thinking that. I go to catholic church so we take the wafers, there cant be that many in them can there? Does anyone know how many or any experience? I guess this is a sign when you have a problem

I think there was a thread on this already. Give it a search. I believe that they had come to the conclusion that it couldnt be more than 2 carbs.

Well...if you know the priest, you could just ask them. Don't tell them you're afraid, just tell them you need to keep track of your carbs. I'm sure they get the stuff in a bag and it's probably got nutrition information on it.

Heck...I'm sure it's not the first time it's come up. I wonder if anyone has actually asked the minister or priest?

I bet it's very low carb, a whole piece of white bread is just 14carbs. The wafer couldn't be more than 1/14 a whole piece of bread...so prob 1g or less....

Anyway, don't think God will strike you down for wanting to take care of the body he gave you. Have a wonderful Easter.

I am taking my first communion tomorrow evening and I'm not sweating it. It's good for the soul.

Have a joyous Easter!

Have you considered just accepting the Blood of Christ (wine)? It is quite acceptable during Communion to only partake in one or the other. You only have to touch the tiniest bit of wine to your lips.
Personally, I would take in the wafer as normal.

Yeah, I have also wondered about taking communion. I did last Sunday and I don't think it even affected me. I even considered skipping it cause it was only my 2nd day low carbing. I figure it's such a small piece, what can it hurt?

I took communion for the first time in a long time last Sunday (our minister has been ill.) I forgot all about my diet, but did remember thinking "Man! That bread is good! Must be a new kind." I think it was just because it was the first time I'd had ANY bread at all in about 3 months! Looking back on it though--I just figure God wants me to take communion a lot more than He wants me to count carbs...

The catholic wafer I bet isn't more than 1 carb....if that....it is so thin and small. I don't worry about it at all..I too am Catholic.

Today the Lord has risen! Let us praise Him and His glory...Christ suffered and died for us all. Somehow I think it is not right to worry about something as trival as the amount of carbs in the host, especially on this day, the Holiest of days to all Christians. When I take communion (Catholic church) I do not count anything but the blessings God has bestowed up on me. Have a very Blessed Easter! (But stay away from the Easter goodies!)

I just wanted to say that the first time I took communion, I didn't think about it until I was kneeling at the front of the church, and realized I was about to EAT BREAD! But then I figured that it was better for my soul to eat the bread.
(I didn't gain any weight).
