Default Former slim fast users...

Are any of you former slim fast users? What a HUGE difference b/t their shakes and atkins shakes. HUGE diff in carbs. I LOVE the atkins shakes...not the ready made ones though. You can get a better deal if you make your own in the blender. I make all kinds of shakes in the blender with lots of ice and sugar free syrup and cream or half and half. I find that I only have to use one scoop of the shake mix if I use the syrups. Anyone else doing this? I have more to say about shakes but my dh won't leave me alone and is making me get off the computer.

I use to be on Slim Fast too. I thought those shakes were good but they are nothing compared to the Atkins shakes. I am addicted to the Chocolate one's.

I prefer the ready made Atkins shakes though. I don't like the way the powder one comes out. I do use the powder kind however, to make mousse.

Cheers,

I prefer the ready-made as well, but the price is outrageous! It makes them pretty self-limiting for me.

I lost a lot of weight on slim fast, low fat subway sandwiches and salads about four years ago, but I felt SO deprived all of the time. I was STARVING! Thats what I love about low carbing. I always feel full and I get to eat all of these rich foods.

I used Slim Fast when I was working early mornings and just wanted to grab something for breakfast on the way out the door. I was hungry by the time I started work! I doubt I lost any weight.

Slim Fast makes a low carb shake now with 2 net carbs. I love them. Personally I think they taste better than the ready made Atkins shakes. Lately, I have been having a hard time making eggs in the morning so these are perfect.

I agree with mom2e&r that the new Slimfast LC shakes are much better than the Atkins pre-made ones, but not that great in general. I hate all these premade foods. I cut down significantly and am finally losing again(1/2 pound in a week!)

I agree that the slim-fast LC shakes taste better, they are also less expensive!

I absolutely loved the Vanilla Slim fast powder, so much so that about 15 years ago I gained about 15 lbs using it. I can't go their anymore, no more shakes, maybe as a special treat in the summer, instead of a milk shake, but other than that, they are definately a no go zone.

I am afraid to try the slimfast LC shakes.
I really like the Atkins Vanilla ones. I usually have one about 1-2times per week.
When we started LC, DH was having one almost everyday, along with a bar...I had to say to him, "Honey, these things are expensive, we need to come up for some other options for you and lunch!"

I love the slim fast lc shakes....i have one for breakfast every morning and haven't stalled. Since they don't contain sugar alcohols I can still have them on induction....not to mention it saves me about $4 on the cost difference with atkins shakes.

I totally agree, the slim fast lc shakes are really good, and the price is right, I keep some in the fridge for those slow start mornings, so I can make sure that I have something inside of me besides coffee!! I also use the carbwise chocolate peanut butter bars!! They are so good with coffee when I do have some time in the mornings.

5 grams of carb, 4 are fiber = 1 net gram per shake.
