Default Where's the FAT!

Why is it when I add fat to my diet (fatty meat, cheese) I gain weight even with my carbs under 15? I don't eat any processed food and have cut out sf gum. For me to get into ketosis I really have to watch my calories and fat. I also work out 3-5 days a week. Is it that I have a slow metabolism or that is just my body chemistry? Does anyone have any insight?

I am on of those who has to eat Ala' Natural to lose. Barely any cheese, no gum, no bars, no shakes, no lunch meat, not a thing of frankin foods.

At 133, 5"6', you are probably already quite thin. Your body is not going to give up any weight without at least a little fight. Calories can become an issue the closer you get to goal.

If you're interested in a lower-fat version of Atkins, you might check out the South Beach Diet.

Maybe you are eating enough carbs in the way of veggies. Also look at your fat/protein/carb ratio...fats are suppoed to be around 70%. If you aren't using fitday.com, I'd suggest that. I was at a stall and went back to using fitday and I've started to lose again. I actually thought I was probably eating too much but, found out that I wasn't eating enough.

Hope all this helps!

Keep it up and you will lose.

Dana

I doubt it is your metabolism - I think it is just that you don't have any weight to lose at all - not at 5'6". That is your body's way of telling you enough is enough. Maybe you should concentrate on toning up if you feel you need the extra firmness, and move to the maintenance phase of the plan for awhile.
