I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM ANYBODY WHO HAS STRUGGLED TO BUY THESE STRIPS IN THE U.K. I HAVE TRIED THE LOCAL PHARMACIES BUT THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THEM. I AM NOT KEEN TO ORDER OVER THE INTERNET AS ITS SOMETHING I HAVE NEVER DONE BEFORE.

Try calling around for "ketosticks".

The drug stores in your area may know that name better. Normally you find them where diabetics testing strips are sold.

I found them cheapest here, they are an 'off' brand, not Bayer, but I am sure they should work, I found the link on another LC website. They are CHEAP!!

I ordered mine, they say they ship immediately , via Priority Mail, and total cost w/shipping for 100 strips is $10 even. I found the Bayer Ketostix at my drugstores locally for 50 strips, 10.79 was the lowest cost.

I just saw that you don't want to order off the internet. I do it frequently, but to each his own. I've never had trouble, but that certainly doesn't mean anything

I just use my debit card, easy as pie (or should I say cheese??)

Anyhow, just a thought.

I didn't find them in any drugstore/pharmacy, but I found them at GNC. So try finding them at vitamin supplement stores (which are usually in the mall).

Agonycat is right, they're more commonly known as ketone testing sticks or ketosticks. They're almost always stocked with the diabetic supplies .. however ... quite a few chemists choose to keep them behind the counter, rather than on the open shelf. Apparently they're a popular item to nick -- go figure!

Good luck. Hint: try phoning different chemists first to see if they stock them .. save a lot of effort, and you could find out the cost too, so you can choose the cheapest place

Use the link above to see them on E-Bay. Believe me, they are the exact same thing I use but are a lot less than I paid for them at the pharmacy! I wish I had searched E-Bay first! I paid $13.99 for 50 sticks at Rite Aid.

They are usually in the diabetic section of the pharmacy near the blood glucose strips. Sometimes they are behind the counter. Just ask. If you want to give the internet a try go to ebay. I get mine there for 4.00 for 100 includes shipping but shipping will be higher for you since you are international. Good luck.

I always have to ask the pharmacist for them, but they're called ketostix. Just tell the pharmacist you want to get strips to check for ketosis.
