Default Low carb chocolate mousse

Hi,
I am not sure where to post this. I tried www.fitday.com but it wouldn't let me in so I'm asking for help. There is this recipe that I copied from carb-lite.com using 1 pkt. Jell-o sugar free pudding--chocolate; 1 cup cold water; and 1 cup heavy cream. Mix ingredients and chill. Servings = 4
The question that I have is the recipe says that it = only 2g carbohydrates; can this be right? It sounds almost too easy and too good to be this low in carbs.

Maren, look at your packages and add it up. I looked at the Jello brand sf pudding(1oz) and it says right on the box that it has 6 grams of carbs per serving (4 servings per box). So right away you are at higher than 2 grams. A cup of heavy whipping cream is 6 grams. So the way I add it up that comes to 30 grams per recipe or 7.5 grams per serving.

I make the best mousse by using the Fran Gare Miracle Sweet chocolate bake mix, add whipping cream, and whip up - it whips super fast. Not sure what the carb content is, but the bake mix is pretty low.

My recipe is a spoonful of "twist" chocolate spread, some melted unsweetened chocolate or cocoa, and whipped cream to taste. Absolutely divine.

I've never heard of the Fran Gare baking mixes. Do they make choc. desserts nice and sweet? Where can I find it? I'm also interested in the almond baking mix. I tried the Carbsense Brownie mix and it was not sweet enough at all.

You can do a Google search "fran gare miracle sweet chocolate bake mix" to see who sells it. I love it for frosting (use cream cheese) - they make almond bake mix too, but I have not tried it. The xylitol is a terrific product and fewer stomach upsets.

I just use a small bit of unsweetened cocoa powder, whipping cream and Splenda to taste for mousse-like desserts. Yumm
