Default Cover girl Karen!

Did anyone else notice the front page of the Vancouver Sun today? Karen Barnaby is there, in all her glory.
WTG Karen!
The article inside on diet "fads" is the (unfortunately) usual spiel of how Atkins is bad for you because of "inability to exercise" (wha?) and a high protein diet will raise your cholesterol to dangerous levels (even though my DH was advised to eat lo-cal to lower his cholesterol). So just ignore.
But catch Karen.

I was thrilled to see Karen on the cover & then so disappointed to read the usual uninformed "expert" advice on the inside. Karen, if you happen to be reading this thread - you looked great. Evidentally you didn't gain all the weight back within one year as proclaimed by those nay-saying nutritionists.

Thanks patricia52 and megan!

I think they intentionally may have left my interview out of the article. Who wants to hear about someone who's been low-carbing for almost 5 years and is doing really well? Or a low-carber who eats vegetables and rarely eats bacon!

Karen did they actually interview you, then only use your pic and not any of your info about how long you have stayed with it??? IF so how cheap!!
I'm getting tothe point when I see an artical about low carb, I don't even waste my time on it. You can pretty much be asssured it's going to be "poorly researched and negative" especially if it is done by a Nutritionist!

The province ran an artical about the changes coming up regarding the labelling of Lower carb products. The pic they used had at least 5 items that do not promote themselves as l.c. they have been on the market for several years "just no sugar added", lazy journalisim (sp)

Yep! But I have faith that the tide will eventually change. Even if it doesn't, I'm not going to change!

Tres belle photo of you, Karen! Seeing your smiling face on the cover of the Sun raised my spirits, but I agree with Kathy, Megan & Patricia that it's very discouraging to read any of these biased media reports. Guess it's the sounds of a dying paradigm trying to fight back! Well, WE know LC works and we're healthier for it....
