Rune, don't worry, yesturday was my first time doing the tape this week too. I did 20 minutes last last and am just about to do another 20 minutes before I leave for the gym.

determine- Thanks, I took that picture myself, then jazzed it up on PSP. Hehe.

Thanks guys, I feel a little better today, even though I only lost one of the three pounds I gained. It's teaching me a good lesson though- cheating will make me miserable for a couple days, so don't do it. Bad, Akasha, bad!

LoL if you can laugh about it, I think you're half way there already

So, completed my day 1/6 today, hello mari. Its funny, I've been doing other things since I got the tapes, and I can feel how much stronger I am in the abbs, since I first tried them, its a nice feeling!

Got my stats too, to compare at the end.

My starting weight for this challenge is 170, and my measurements are:

B-40"
W-36"
H-39.5"

I just did workout 2/30. I skipped yesterday so I guess I have to do my Pilates for six straight days now. That's not at all normal for me, but I'm very anxious to be an "exercise person" I walk for 30 minutes, do the 20-minute Winsor Pilates, and do pushups, bicep curls, lateral raises, and tricep dips. Thanks everyone for this challenge, it's really helping my motivation!! Have a great day everyone!!

I had to push myself to do my tape tonight. I was tired from working out at the gym earlier, but I did get in a good solid 15 minutes. 2/30 completed for me!

It's weird, and I've been saying it all along, but I still feel like I should be doing more in the way of exercising. Guess I'll just keep working at it and hopefully will increase the time spent doing it daily.

Ok, I think I'm sufficiently recovered from the flu to start tomorrow. I still am not at full energy, but I'm going to start slowly with a 20 minute session. If I can handle it, I'll do it for the 6 days, but if not, I'll keep to every other day for the first week. I don't want to discourage myself first thing.

Also how long did it take most of you to not wiggle during the leg exercises on winsor pilates? i'm a little frustrated.

Good luck Mil, and hope you're feeling better soon

April, I swear I've done it for a least a good month till I felt strong enough to do the rolling moves. And actually I really only felt like i was doing them correctly today! Almost sent myself arse over teakettle this morning, lol.

And for the leg moves, same thing. One thing i find that helps is to really tense up your stomach (core) and butt and maybe make smaller moves with your legs.

Try not to get frustrated, strength (and suppleness i hope) will come!!

Hi! I'd like to join y'all. I've been doing Pilates for the past two weeks, about 4 times a week. I'm not following any one particular program, yet. I borrowed several books, dvds, and videos from the library, and have placed a hold on a bunch more (I was #40 to place a hold on the Windsor dvds--I figure I'll be able to pick them up in about 2 years!) I've found it very instructive to look into several different resources--some have just a different slant, or focus. So far, I like Denise Austin's video, but I can't do all of the exercises. I thought I could do different tapes through the week and get a pretty well-rounded work-out.
Does Winsor recommend doing a Pilates workout 6 days a week? One book I read said that doing the workout 4 days a week is sufficient--more than that won't benefit you any more. What I have been doing is alternating doing the regular mat work on 1 day, then doing an arm work out (with weights) on the next day.

Since I did Pilates yesterday and today, I will say that I'm at 2 of 30. I don't think I'll do more than 5 days a week, though, so I'll be taking a little longer to get my 30.

I also walk some days, and swim on others. Yesterday I walked almost 4 miles. Today I swam a little over half a mile. AprilJoy--I'm with you, I've really been enjoying my exercise--never thought THAT would happen! Maybe because now I have the energy to do it!

1/30

Ok, I've done my first workout! About 20 minutes - maybe a little less, because I had a problem with the DVD in the middle of it.

By the way, the DVD I'm using is from Gaiam (Real Goods) - Pilates conditioning for weight loss, with Suzanne Deason. It's got three levels, all demonstrated at the same time with three instructors, so you just pick the one you want to follow. I'm doing some level 1 and some level 2 right now.

I did my full 40 minutes cardio and matwork pilate tape last night... Had to push myself, but I am feeling great about it. That was on top of walking a mile and working out too. Yayness... 3/30 for me!
