Smile My introduction

I think I am a little in shock that I am a member of the TDC. In my mind I'm just not that big!

I had been doing really well LCing until I got pregnant, and had lots of complications. I ended up eating terribly unhealthy food and gained 55 pounds. My son was born almost 2 weeks ago and I'm ready to begin healthy eating again!!!

Because I want to give my baby the best start in life I'm nursing him exclusively, so I am not going to do any super-low carb eating, but I am certainly going to reduce my carbs and work on eating whole, healthy foods and avoiding fake foods whenever possible.

I look forward to talking with everyone here and giving and getting support on our journey to health!

Hi oregano and welcome to the TDC! Congratulations on the new baby. It's such an exciting time of life for you. Sounds like you have a great plan for getting started and I can atest to losing weight at higher carb levels. When I first started, I lost weight even eating 100 carbs per day, so you can do it. It'll just be a bit harder because your cravings may not be totally gone.

Good luck!

welcome congrats on the new baby.

you can test for ketosis at different carb levels. As long as you're out of ketosis, you should be able to LC and still nurse safely

Good luck and congratulations on your little one. I am also doing only a semi-low carb plan and the weight comes off, just slower. Keep us posted.

Welcome! How wonderful to have a new bundle of joy -I will bet you are busy! I certainly agree with Diemde, you should be able to keep your carbs at about 100 and do fine. Plus, breastfeeding is terrific for weight loss and shrinking your tummy. Between a bit of low-carbing and breastfeeding, you should do great!

Congratulations on your new baby!! You are choosing very important things for your baby: your own choice of food has to affect your milk positively; and your example to your son when he is old enough to mimic you (it won't be long) in a healthy way of eating.

All the best!

hmmmm baby, the other other white meat. Just kidding. Congratulations on the addition to your family. You have reached one of the most supportive forums on the web (even the wisecrackers like me). Good luck on your journey and check in often.
