Default coffee creamer

i can use creamer with my coffee right? does that affect induction at all?

i'm not sure...i've been drinking it with my decaf the last couple of days, but i'm soo worried that ANYTHING will affect induction, so i'd rather stay away from it. anything would help...

thank you!

Kimmy

Cool

Hi girliegrly

It might be better for you to use cream in your coffee, when you say "creamer" are you talking the artificial stuff with trans fatty acids in it? I know that sometimes when we go out to eat and I have coffee, the little creamers on the table are 1/2 & 1/2 and sometimes if you read the ingredients, they are full of everything else but cream you might want to check whats in it.

You can use heavy cream or a tiny bit of half and half, but nothing with sugar in it like Coffee Delights or milk.

thank you! i've been using half and half...i'm just really cautious about what i put in my mouth now and i'm so determined to get this weight off that i don't want to stall or enable this process. i'm not even having any of the bars or shakes while on induction because i've read on here that it's not good.

it's been hard enough not having real caffeine anymore...the decaf is just a monetary psychological fullfillment for that instant gratification of "perk" that i'm used to. i guess it may be the aroma that triggers my mind into believing that i'm REALLY drinking coffee (caffeinated) when i'm not. so without the 1/2 and 1/2 i'd truly be in some sort of morning daze.

thanks for your help!! it is much appreciated!

blue skies,

Kimmy

Be sure to limit your daily consumption to three ounces of unsweetened heavy cream during induction.

Speaking of heavy cream and half and half, I've been meaning to ask a question. Everybody say the cream is lower carb, but from what I can see on the nutrition facts you can only use one tablespoon of cream for one carb versus two tablespoons of half and half for one carb. What kind of cream am I supposed to look for. I thought it was the heavy cream, but everyone I check out has these same stats.

I hated cream and used half and half since the first few weeks. Also, I switched back to leaded coffee after a month or so with no bad effects. I got below my goal weight and am maintaining just fine.

Genrally speaking with cream, the higher the fat content the lower the carbs. Double cream (heavy cream?) is the best. That powdered stuff is mostly glucose powder - put it in the dustbin (or garbage can).

Look for the thread called "the coffee question." There's a lot of debate about whether you really need to cut out real coffee. I certainly didn't and I lost fine.

I use Blue Bunny heavy whipping cream, the only ingredient listed is cream. Tried the Meadowgold heavy cream because they were out of BB, and it has several additives so I won't buy that again.

Sorry, but cream has carbs. If the carb count per serving is 0.99 or less they can list it as 0 carbs. I think cream is something like 10g carbs per cup (maybe a tad lower) so if you are eating alot, say whipping it up for a snack or dessert, then you are getting carbs.

I doubt anyone is putting much more than one serving of creamer in their coffee. Some brands do contain 1 carb per serving because they also contain 1 gram of added sugar. Land O Lakes Heavy Whipping Cream does not.

It still contains lactose, naturally occuring milk sugars. If it doesn't, then it is nondairy and I would be scared of what is in it.

I also doubt that people are putting more then 1-2 servings of cream in thier coffee (some may be putting 1 tbsp in each cup and having more then 1 cup) however there are many who use cream in cooking or as a quick dessert and do have more then a cup a day thinking it is 0 carb.
