Default Karen's Way to Move

I thought that I had better get with the program and start jotting down what I do for exercise. Too bad we can't count all the time spent going up and down stairs and chasing kids. Oh well, here goes.

Sunday (2/22/04)= 30 Minutes on Treadmill (1.52 miles)
Monday (2/23/04)= 45 minutes on Treadmill (2.32 miles)
Tuesday (2/24/04)= Time off
Wednesday (2/25/04)=40 minutes on Treadmill (2.12 miles)

That pretty much gets me current as of this week. It should be interesting to see how long I can stay with this. I have been walking for about 4 weeks now. To begin with, I was lucky to last 20 minutes (pretty bad). It has been getting easier and less pain the longer I stay with the walking.

I tried doing the treadmill earlier in the morning and it sure tired me out a lot more. So for now, I quess that I will leave my exercising for after lunch or supper.

Thursday (2/26/04)= 30 minutes on Treadmill (1.56 Miles)

Hey Karen,

It looks like you're doing great! I like being able to post/record my activity. It's a good motivator in itself. I agree we should be able to count the ruunning after kids as exercise!

And yelling should be worth extra!

I tried walking on the treadmill this evening to see if I could get some energy back. No luck---I guess it is just one of those days.

Thursday (2/26/04)= 20 minutes (1 mile)

Kathy, I have to agree with you that posting your exercise is a great motivator.

Wow, Karen! Twice in one day-good for you! You are really doing great with your treadmill, aren't you?

I have a treadmill, too, but (and this is embarrassing to admit) I'm still too heavy to use it without it sounding like I'm wrecking the motor. I'm hoping I can use it in another twenty pounds gone or so.

I made it through Monday!!!!

3/1/04= 30 Minutes (1.53 miles)
3/1/04= 20 minutes (1.07 miles)

Kathy, thanks for the good words. You will be able to get on your treadmill before you know it. I have to admit that the more weight I lose, the easier it is to do. Keep up the good work on your bike!!!!!

Still feeling pretty wiped out from being sick, so I took it short and slow on the treadmill.

3/5/04= 21 minutes (1 mile)

I also got my Walk Away the pounds videos today. I think that I will wait until I feel better to try them.

Hey Karen,

Good for you for doing it even though you didn't feel too great!!

My bike is actually waiting to be repaired. I'm quite annoyed by the whole thing as I just bought the darn thing recently and paid a small fortune for it. Ahhhh.

I'm going to try and do something else in the meantime. maybe I'll risk my treadmill again.

Have a great weekend!
Kathy

Well it is Saturday and all is well. I did the 1 mile Walk Away the Pounds video. It was my first time and I was surprised at how many muscles I used that normally I do not use on the treadmill. To tell you the truth, it sure tired me out. I hope that it will get easier the more I do it. The people on the video make it look so easy. Matthew and Morgan actually did part of it with me. We probably looked like a circus, but they had fun.

3/6/04= 23 Minutes (1.15 miles) (treadmill)

I walked on the treadmill after the video, so my time was shorter then normal.

Then I did the treadmill.
3/7/04= 41 minutes (2.01 miles)

So as you can see Sunday got off to a good start!!!!
