Default Need Cookbook Recommendations

Hey everybody!

I'm not 'new' here, but my question is a 'newbie' one. I'm looking for a great cookbook for Atkins... my only requirement is that it have a lot of quick and easy to make dishes. I have a baby and very little time to devote to, ummm, life!!! So the quicker the better. I'm also interested in short ingredient dishes and less obscure dishes (I live in the boonies and rare things are hard to come by ;-).

Ideas? Your favorite?

Post here or in my journal- I TOTALLY appreciate any and all help in this matter.

hi Rebecca, have you tried doing an internet search on low carb cookbooks? There seems to be a ton of them now. Even when I go to the store there seems to be a lot more choices in lc cookbooks. The only one I can recommend as my favorite, is the "Low Carb Holiday" cookbook, you can find it here: http://www.carbolowdrate.com/site/5...uct/307-3677795

I also have the Everything Low Carb cookbook from Netrition.com, but it seems they are more recipes for those who have a TON of time to prepare them!

Definitely 500 Low Carb Recipes and 15 Minute Low Carb Recipes by Dana Carpenter! I also like 90% of the recipes in the new book by Drs. Eades The 30 Day Low-Carb Diet Solution.

And there will always be Karen's new book coming this fall!

I love Lose Weight the Smart Low Carb Way, and Atkins Best Recipes - Lose Weight with More than 175 Low Carb Dishes. They both have great recipes, and lots of photos.

If you want to branch out from official low carb recipies, get any of the Sixty Minute Gourmet series by Pierre Franey. These are recipes that were published in the NY Times in the late 70s and early 80s, before low fat dieting took over, and most of them are meat or fish preparations with sauces often including a small amount of cream, egg yolk and cheese Carbs other than vegetables are usually relegated to side dishes, so are easy to skip.

I LOVE Dana Carpenter's books. I also like the Low Carb Comfort Foods cookbook, when I want to make breads and stuff like that.

Wink quick recipes

Hi there. The Atkins Nutrionals site has a lot of easy recipes and very quick ones too. I have tried a number and my family still thinks they are eating the "old" way.
