Default The Great Ketone Sticks Rip Off

So when I first started Atkins back last June, I bought a bottle of 200 ketosticks for about six bucks in the diabetic section of a now-forgotten pharmacy. Now I see they are marketing them to low carbers for something like $18 for 25. I refuse to get taken for that ride! Anyone have any tips on where to get these things for a good price? (I know I can go online and I keep meaning to order a pile of stuff from netrition but never seem to get around to it.)

I'm not too sure about in NY, but here I just get them from the pharmacy and they are cheap. Buying them in a low carb section would definitely result in a higher price...
Because I'm diabetic and have a 'prescription' for them, I actually get an official prescription receipt and can claim it on my insurance. If your dr is supportive and willing to write you a scrip for them, you might be able to too, depending on your drug plan, of course.
I also buy the Diastix... you can test your drink in a restaurant to make sure it's really diet. You'd be amazed how often it's not, and there are times I'm not paying enough attention to the taste, by the time my stomach tells me, it's too late...

Netritions sells ketone strips too! Only $6.95 for a bottle of 100 sticks!!

Can't beat that price. Order your other stuff and take advantage of their flat rate shipping of $4.95 - no matter how much stuff you order.

I also get mine on ebay. He charges 3.50 for shipping and the actual cost is only .60 but it's still WAY cheaper than getting them anywhere else. It cost me around $7 for 100 of them.

I got them on ebay as well--I ordered 5 boxes!!! The shipping and handeling kinda pissed me off--to charge 3.50 when it costs you .60, but who cares when you saving that kind of money.
One thing I've noticed about them is that they are a bit harder to turn pink then then the Bayer....Or is it just me? Doesn't bother me--now they turn every time I use them, there was just an adjustment when I fist got them.
Good Luck

Default Costco...

I get mine in the pharmacy section of our local Costco (PDX, OR) - 200 for $19.95, they seem to be lasting forever as long as I am careful to cap tightly to keep out the damp...

good luck!

It's amazing how much some will charge. I've seen them in health food stores for $18.99 marketed for low-carbers, and I've seen them at the drug store for $7.49 in the diabetics section.

Crazy!

Glad i could help! yes, that shipping is a rip off, they come with a 60 cent stamp (and i just noticed there is no cent key on the keyboard lol) but it evens out. They do that so the ebay fees are cheaper!
