Default Has Anyone Tried Life Choice Frozen Dinners?

I found it in the freezer section. They had roasted chicken,
roasted turkey, parmesan chicken, but I tried beef tips with
mushrooms, broccoli and carrots with 12 grams of carbs. It
was wonderful! I was a little leary because the old dinners
I've had in the past always had fat (the unedible kind) and
grissle (sp?) on them. The meat was very tender and had
no fat and I added a pat of butter to the veggies. It was a
large portion of meat too. I ended up stirring the veggies
into the meat - yummy.

Anyway, I called their 800 number and commented. She's
sending me a coupon.

I was wondering if anyone has tried the others.

A girl at work has tried them. The one she showed me had a split chicken breast with a mushroom type gravy and green beans. I think it was 7 carbs. She said it was good. Kind of spendy, almost $4 each. Hopefully they will go on sale and I'll get some for those days that I don't have time to make lunch. Also, it will be nice on days that I don't bring lunch to get something other than a salad or lunch meat for lunch!

Krogers carries them here. They are the same price as the healthy choice meals here too. My wife (who is on maintenance) takes them to work for lunch.

My family is crazy about Mike's Low Carb Gormet Frozen dinners and I must say they are AWESOME! I found them at Gelson's a higher end supermarket chain. The website is www.LowCarbGourmet.com I think(!)

I tried the chicken with mushroom gravy (mushrooms picked off because I hate them, yuck) and green beans/red peppers. It was awesome for a low carb meal!! I think it had 6 net carbs.. The life choice meals were 2 for 7.00 at Kroger but as a college student- we just dont have that money to spend! They are good to have around though for nights you are feeling lazy. ALSO, in my opinion, it was WAY better than that Chef's Choice meal I had- the chicken was fatty! I had to literally spit a lot into a napkin

Thumbs up

The have the Life Choice dinners at safeway here in the west. I just had a beef pot roast with green beens. Wonderful, for the days I am in a rush and not wanting to cook.

One important point, they put the total carbs on their packaging (in BOLD figures) but you need to minus out the fiber. The dinner I had was 12 gms total carbs, but 3 gms fiber. So in the end it was 9 effective carbs.

The Life Choice Beef Tips are the best with the Pot Roast a close second. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately not all of the Safeway stores carry them yet. I found them over at the Safeway store at Sequoia Station in Redwood City.
