Unhappy I'm trying ta figure it out.....

Hi all!
OK I am very new.. like day 3.. and I have tons of questions lol.
But I will only start with a couple.

1./ My sister says I can have pepperoni stick as a snack
during induction. But all the pepperoni I find has either glucose or dextrose in them . I don't know if I should eat it. They only have 1.5 gr of carb but I read no sugar. Please help, my foods are very boring and repetitive.
2./Do all store bought salad dressings have sugar in them? I haven't gone out shopping for new dressings yet, because I have 3 in my fridge.
Kraft Classics Golden Italian,Caesar, and Ranch. (I really hate mayo)

You can have pepperoni or pepperoni sticks, just count the carbs.

You should be able to find tasty salad dressing (i.e., not 'fat free') that has 1 or 2 g of carbs per serving, which is OK. Most of the major brands are OK, but do watch out for the ones that have more carbs.

As Nick said, stuff like pepperoni and sausage are okay but count the carbs. Don't eat too much of that stuff though. It's very, very processed and has been known to slow down weight loss in certain people. For snacks I get spicy pork rinds. They're surprisingly good.

Salad dressings... I've found that caesar and bleu cheese dressings stick to around 1 carb per 2 tablespoons and taste amazingly good.

For salad dressings, look for the old fashioned "bad" dressings! LOL High fat, low carb.

I use several: Kroger Pepper Parmesan (2g carbs), Ken's Greek (1g carb), anf Kraft Classic Caesar (<1g carb). (These counts are for 2T serving)

Read the labels. There are a lot of good dressings out there. And just for fun, check the carb counts of some of the "healthy" light dressings!

Hi, BCBeauty!!

My Mom lives in Vernon

If you're worried about sugar in your dressing, what about making your own oil and vinegar?? Sugar in commercial dressings is pretty much unavoidable--for all you Americans, we don't have the wide array of sf products that you have Or, I don't know how close you are to the border, but try a hop down to the US??

I personally really like the Kraft Creamy Cucumber, Ranch, Creamy Caesar and Newman's Own Oil and Vinegar.

If you're interested in pork rinds, go to Real Canadian Superstore and get their generic ones. Oh, yeah--the generic beef jerky at RCS has NO sugar (unlike all the other beef jerky I've ever found ).

Check out the Canada area of the forum for products/tips for our neck of the woods

Take care,
Nicole
