Default Birthday tomorrow!! need sweet treat.......

Help! My birthday is tomorrow and every year i've had chocolate cake and blue bell mint choco chip ice cream. My children will still expect that treat for themselves so i'd hate to dissapoint them, but i don't want to be tempted to cheat! I have nearly no time for preparation and do not care to try any recipes using flour or ingredients that i might be on a wild goose chase for. I'm a pretty simple kinda gal. I have a cheesecake recipe, but I am hoping for something different. also, i've had no luck with unsweetened choc.

Does anyone have any ideas????

Yep, I made it the other day and forgot to put the cream in the mixture. It was a bit dry, but was fine when I made a topping/ middle out of butter, cream, cocoa powder and splenda.

Felt really weird eating a cake after all this time, but it was good

The carbsense minicarb chocolate cake mix turned out extreamly well. I used a creamcheese icing with cocoa.

For my b-day I made a cheesecake that turned out amazing. I have a link to the recipe and a photo in my gallery. Leave out the carob chips for lower carbs and it will still be amazing.

while i was at the health store i looked at carob chips, but passed on them because they seemed to have a lot of sugar in them, it was not added suger but i just was not too sure about them. I like the idea of no caffeine, but i just picked up some cocoa powder instead att he grocery. what is the difference?

Carob isn't chocolate. It is an evergreen tree with edible legumes that can be made into a cocoa like powder. It does have carbs naturally. It can be used by people allergic to chocolate.

cocoa powder is chocolate minus the cocoa butter (main ingredient in white chocolate) and chocolate liquer.

Baking Chocolate - Pure cocoa liquor with nothing added
Cocoa Powder - Cocoa bean solids; cocoa liquor pressed to remove the cocoa butter
Semisweet Chocolate - Pure cocoa liquor with extra cocoa butter and some sugar
Milk Chocolate - Pure cocoa liquor with extra cocoa butter, sugar and milk solids; more milk than chocolate liquor
White Chocolate - Cocoa butter with sugar and milk; no cocoa bean solids
