Default Which books?

Hi,

I am fairly new to Atkins, but not low carb. I started the Atkins diet after checking out the New Diet Revolution from the library (small, yellow paperback). The book is due back soon (I have checked it out a couple of times in a row) and I want to buy my own Atkins book. When I look on-line I see there are A LOT of Atkins diet books. Which one(s) do you recommend and why? I read somewhere that the newer book(s) talk a lot about sugar alcohols and net carbs. I really want to have a book that is true to the original Atkins philosophy. My concern is that those who are running the Atkins business now - how do we know they are staying true to the Atkins way and not just promoting their products? I don't know. Any advice?

Also looking for a good cookbook. I have both of the Fran McCollough books (love them!), but wondering if you highly recommend others (even some of the Atkins books) or not?

Thanks!
Carrie

Can't help you with the newest version of DANDR, but you definitely need to pick up cookbooks by Dana Carpender. I have her 500 LOW CARB RECIPES, and her 15 MINUTE LOW CARB RECIPES. They're wonderful! Check out overstock.com for great prices and low shipping prices.

I suggest a permanent copy of New Diet Revolution and a copy of the Atkins Quick & Easy cookbook.

I second the nomination for Dana Carpender. I depend on her two books for many of my family's meals. Easy and delicious. I am looking forward to Karen's book being available. Her recipes are always something special.

Thank you all for your responses. I love to cook, I am going to check out Dana Carpender's books today.

At the risk of sounding completely uninformed, who is Karen?

Thanks, again,
Carrie.
