Question Looking for Atkins Travel Advice

Hey all fellow low carbies-

Tomorrow I pack up the babe, grab the husband and head for Colorado Springs. I'm at the end of my 3rd week on the Atkins plan. I'm doing well, and sticking out my 3rd week stall.

Does anyone have any tips on staying on target while travelling? Is it true that I can eat the meat part of the fast food burger and not compromise the plan? I want to stay on target and remain strong.

Anyone with portable food ideas? Remember I've got a baby and so I can't be totin' a cooler.

Much thanks to anyone who posts in response to this :-)
All ideas are appreciated!

Hi!

If you're staying in a hotel, if it's not too late, ask for a room with a kitchenette. It won't cost you any more money if you consider that you'll be saving on dining out.

If you're staying at someone's home, arm yourself with the proper excuses and maybe even some of your own groceries.

Yes, you can do the fast food thing and it's easier now than ever. There's a good thread right now in the General LC area, "All about eating out. That might have some ideas.

You might also want to keep some Atkins bars, nuts and pepperoni sticks on hand - they're fine without refridgeration.

Enjoy your trip!

Tuna or chicken in the no drain pouches works. Sometimes you can even find some individually wrapped packages of mayo that don't need to be refridgerated to go with it.
