Default Cream on induction

Hello, I read on the induction approved foods list that cream should be limited to 2-3Tbls per day.

Does anyone know the reasoning for this? I'm having trouble getting my calories up. I'm eating all the required veggies and plenty of protein. I'd like to raise my calories by having cream a little more often.

Thanks!

I imagine it is limited becuase knowing how ppl can take the 'unlimited food!' thing to heart, they might, I dont't know, like drink cream and that's a sure fire way to sabatoage the diet!!

I say if your having troubles with calories go for it... but remember that a little goes a long way calorie wise!

Not too sure in regards to the cream... but if you want to get your calories up, try bacon (nitrate/maple-syrup free), eggs, high-fat salad dressings, cheese, and mayo.

Cheers,

Cream does have some carbs, try some Avocado over your salads or with your eggs. That'll boost it.

Try flaxseed oil, it is really good lightly sprinkled on a crisp salad, or even as you you might take cod liver oil, a tablespoon in the morining to start the day of right.

I find it really yummy.

Green olives are very good lo carb food. 80% of their calories come from fat and their carb contents are almost neglegible. I can't remember if Dr. Atkins has recommended them for induction or not.

I know that 1/2 avocado is allowed in induction, but is it then just counted as part of "1 salad"?

I forgot that rule when I shot a can of whip cream in my mouth yesterday. I must have had 3 or 4 huge mouthfuls, not to mention the tablespoon here and there with my coffee's. I still woke up today weighing half a pound less. So I dont know what to tell you. For me its okay. Just keep it under 20 c.
