Hi Chris, welcome aboard!

We had a local low-carb dinner a couple of months ago, and one of the members kindely brought some. I tried the dark chocolate, as it was the lowest in carb, 1g for a small bar (notice that the manufacturer subtracts maltitol sugar alcohol from the carb count).

It was like real chocolate, nothing too fancy/gourmet, but not like a "diet" bar.

if you're a fan of white chocolate, that one is good...and the dark chocolate is decent too...the milk chcocolate has an obvious strange taste, but i got past it....

go to lowcarbgrocer.com they have a sample pack of 7 bars for under $12

also another produst you'll find on there is Twist spread--the low carb versions come in chocolate and chocolate/hazelnut..this stuff is AWESOME for chocolate cravings!!!!!

if you need more info...pm me

Hi Chris23,

I ordered the variety pack Ross chocolates and have tried three of the flavours. I really liked the milk chocolate and mint chocolate flavours. I didn't care to much for the peanut one. I haven't tried the others yet but I will keep you posted when I do. I will definitely order the milk and mint flavours again.

My favourite is the chocolate mint.... I tried e-mailing the lady in Thunder Bay (listed on the Ontario shopping list) about a week ago to order more and she never responded....not sure if she's not selling anymore or what. I will have to try phoning her.

Those Ross bars. Gotta love 'em...

The one I am not fond of is the peanut. It always tastes stale to me. Ray doesn't have a problem with them.

The Mint is yummy.

The Raspberry tastes just like one of those chocolates with the soft raspberry jelly centers.

The Orange tastes like the "Terry" orange balls that you smack.

Lightbulb lowcarb in the UK

hi Chris,

I generally avoid the chocolate and sweets discussions, but just wanted to jump in and say hi, and also let you know that LowCarb Canada is linked with several lowcarb shopping sites in the UK. Click on Links on the red menu bar at the top of the page, scroll down the list!

Good luck; look forward to reading more posts of your lowcarbing success!

Default Hi Chris

Hey, I haven't tried those bars either, so when you do, be sure to come back and let us other newbies know how they taste...

Thank goodness for the internet cuz it is hard to get Low Carb things here in Okinawa too!!! I just stick with meat eggs and cheese... LOL and all the low carb veggies that are avaliable here...

I forgot to post "the warning". Because Ross Chocolates have Maltitol in them, they can have a laxative effect if you eat too much. We usually just have one and we don't eat them every day. As always, ymmv. Some people complain that they cause them to stall but they are a nice treat once in a while.

Question

Hey Sharon,

I was looking back on some of these postings and noticed your thread. I just emailed this woman too tonight in hopes of hearing from her about the Ross Chocolates (She has a great name did you notice...LOL), have you heard from her yet?

Wendy
