Exclamation Girl Scout Cookies.....ARGH!

I need to call in the troops on this one... I need reinforcement!! My daughter starts selling those delicious carb loaded little cookies in a week.
I normally buy a ton - and eat a ton....but now, I dont want to. But I also want to buy from her to help her earn her prizes ---- oh who am I kidding, I want to eat them!!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess I could still buy them and donate them to a food shelter or something.

Ah, my first REAL lc test.

Thanks for listening!!

Oh, good heavens...those yummy little Samoas...

Talk about a dilemma! I would think the Girl Scouts would be happy to take your money without giving you the cookies, if you asked. That or else give a box to everyone you know for Valentine's day!

Well I was Brownie Leader for 5 yrs. . .I currently have a Junior and a Cadet in my house. This is my second cookie-less year. . .waha. . .but it really is true. . .buying a regular size shirt (okay XL but not 1X or 2X or 3X) and walking into Lane Bryant yesterday for the last time and buying a shirt for $7 because it was the smallest size (14/16 rather than 26/28) in there. . .feels SO MUCH BETTER THAN THIN MINTS EVER TASTED. redawn

YUKKKKK!!!!! I burned out on GS cookies after 13 years worth. I've had cases and cases of cookies in my garage, spent many hours at cookie booths, etc. My daughter is now a lifetime member of Girl Scouts (she's a junior in college) but at least she doesn't sell cookies anymore!!

However, I do like to support scouting. I purchased boxes of some that I don't like (peanut butter flavors) for my sons, but won't be tempted to eat them. I'll let my two teenagers polish them off.

For those of you who don't want the temptation but still want to support scouting, call your local GS council and ask about "family partner" donations. It's a tax-writeoff and 100% of the money goes directly to scouting (as opposed to donating through United Way or other similar service).

Joan

On my honor.....

I hadn't even thought about this temptation yet. Great now, I'm craving Somoas and those PB and Chocolate Cookies. Good Grief!

I think I will definately have to avoid buying any and hope the family doesn't either. I don't think I have the power to turn them down.

I'd say you could help her by taking her out selling more than usual, or victimize your co-workers a little extra. If you're like ME, they'd never make it out of the house alive if I bought them to give away... no matter HOW noble the intention!

hey, i have the best solution for your cookie dilema. now, please understand i'm a penny pincher. then you'll understand my suggestion.
here it is- buy from your daughter- no problem there. now, turn around, take them to work (or wherever) and SELL them again!!!! no donating!!! sell them! then, you've supported your daughter, and..... made your money back!

I bought 4 or 5 boxes for my wife and son. Didn't get any that I even remotely like. Easy to resist.

Also the only cookie that would be hard to resist for me is the Original Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie.... That is a REAL cookie - at least for me.
